Interview with Oxford Hits Radio at British Transplant Games, Oxford 2025
Being in Oxford for the British Transplant Games felt like reliving some of the strong emotions and memories I had during the time Mum was in the hospitals getting a fistula put into her arm or neck, and it was also the place where she went to when the rare telephone calls were made telling Mum a potential organ had been found for her. I went with my father who was there as much as possible for my Mum. We went past some of the hospitals and spending time amongst donor families and transplant recipients really gave me a chance to see what could have been but never was.
I was also lucky to see interest from the organisers of the event and a charity in Brighton
